Astro-Fix NMS     (Non Magnetic Sensor)
for Dobsonian,  Altaz and Equatorial mounted telescopes
Now with new sensors and updated software

The Astro-Fix NMS is continually being updated as more accurate sensors become
available. Primarily intended for Dobsonian Telescopes it also has an equatorial feature.

  • Unaffected by ferrous materials
  • All sensors are contained within the case
  • Calibration feature on both altitude and azimuth
  • Compact size 85mm x 55mm x 25mm
  • 0.1 degree resolution
  • Backlit display
  • Tough ABS case fits to telescope using velcro
  • Two modes of operation - Dob and EQ
  • Provides you with altitude, azimuth and
       declination coordinates

Using the Astro-Fix NMS couldn't be simpler, just reference it to any convenient
star which takes just a minute. Now set your telescope to the azimuth of your
required target  followed by the altitude of the target. You can quickly move from
target to target and find all those elusive Deepsky Objects..
Azimuth and altitude values can be fine tuned if necessary.

Remote Sensor Option
When setting azimuth, the telescope tube needs to be approximately level. This may
not be convenient on some telescopes so we can offer a remote azimuth sensor
option.
This allows you to fit the display/altitude unit onto a convenient place on the tube and
fit the azimuth sensor onto the mount near the central axis. The connecting cable is
approximately 1.5 metres in length but contact us if you require a different length
cable.
Accuracy (in general, the closer the reference, the greater the accuracy)
Altitude - typically within 0.5 degrees
Azimuth - typically within 1.0 degree

For best  results, choose a nearby reference and keep the telescope on level ground.
